If you are just getting started in food plotting, this will grow pretty anywhere and thick. Before I had a equipment, I was installing this by had with a rake and walk behind tiller. Occasionally, I would walk out to the plot to cut the weed heads off to let the plot choke out the weeds, second year comes in even stronger. Great for breaking up soil compaction. I still plant 1/2 acre a year in the hunting plots because of deer frequency.
